Development of National Just Transition Plan (NJTP) setting the framework for Territorial Just Transition Plans
The aim of the project is to develop a national framework for the process of just transition of Polish mining regions by developing a document of the National Just Transition Plan, which will provide financing for the Just Transition process in these regions.
The NJTP will be developed on the basis of the guidelines compliant with EU regulations, in particular the Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing the Just Transition Fund.
The development of NJTP will include analyses and expert’s opinions prepared by experts representing such sectors as energy, raw materials, technology, transport, investment, environment, etc. The diagnosis will be made in consultation with sub-regions / regions to ensure consistency with the action defining process which is already underway. It will also take into account the social dimension of changes which are to contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the Just Transition Fund and provide support to territories that face serious socio-economic challenges related to the process of transition towards climate-neutral EU by 2050. The NJTP, apart from issues related to economic changes, will also address social and demographic changes, including the need to conduct local consultations with social, economic and local government partners.
