The topics addressed by the experts of the new groups include: wildlife and agricultural production, sustainable industrial crops in Europe, reducing the plastic footprint of agriculture, sustainable beef production systems and climate-smart (sub) tropical food crops in the EU.<\/p>\n<p>Experts who will work in the new Focus Groups were selected from among 350 candidates. <strong>One of the experts of the <a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/eip\/agriculture\/en\/focus-groups\/sustainable-industrial-crops-europe-new-market\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EIP-AGRI Focus Group: Sustainable Industrial Crops in Europe<\/a> is Dr. Marta Pogrzeba, Prof. of IETU.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>What do Focus Groups do?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Focus Groups of the European Innovation Partnership for Agricultural Productivity and Sustainability (EIP-AGRI) are temporary groups of selected experts focusing on a specific agricultural subject and sharing knowledge and experience. The Group explores innovative solutions to the problems and opportunities for scientific research in a given field, and also analyses the effectiveness of new good practices. Its purpose is to contribute to the implementation of the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/eu2020\/pdf\/COMPLET%20EN%20BARROSO%20%20%20007%20-%20Europe%202020%20-%20EN%20version.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">European Strategy for Smart, Sustainable and Inclusive Growth<\/a>. <\/strong>It aims at fostering a competitive and sustainable agriculture and forestry sector that \"achieves more with less.\" It contributes to ensuring a stable supply of food, feed and biomaterials as well as sustainable management of basic natural resources which agriculture and forestry depend on, acting in harmony with the environment. To achieve this goal, EIP-AGRI brings together actors - farmers, advisors, scientists, entrepreneurs, NGOs, etc. and helps build a bridge between scientific research and practice.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/eip\/agriculture\/en\/about\/service-point-eip-agri-network\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">More<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>EIP \u2013 a new approach to innovation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>European Innovation Partnerships constitute a new approach to research and innovation. Five European Innovation Partnerships help to pool expertise and resources by connecting public and private sectors at EU, national and regional levels. All EIPs focus on social benefits and rapid modernisation.
