CICADA4CE project partners meeting in Turin

A meeting of 12 partners of the CICADA4CE project, including IETU as Lead Partner, was held in Turin, Italy, on March 19-20, 2025. The meeting was opened by Dr. Anna Starzewska-Sikorska - Project Coordinator, who reminded the main assumptions of the project and the schedule for the implementation of individual activities. The first day of the meeting was devoted to a detailed discussion of all work packages, attaching the greatest importance to those activities that end withing the upcoming reporting period. During the presentations, the partners presented the completed tasks and discussed the next stages of work ahead.

At this stage we are completing the identification of needs and challenges and the selection of solutions for adapting cities to climate change. Intensive work is underway in the pilot cities, where the structures of the Urban Living Labs are taking shape to support all activities in the project. Cities are preparing their pilot investments that will reduce the negative effects of climate change, including, among other things, elevated temperatures. At the same time, many meetings, workshops and other activities are taking place in Pilot Cities to raise public awareness of ecosystem services and climate change adaptation.

The meeting was an opportunity to discuss the essence of the project in more depth, clarify any doubts, develop new ideas and ways to solve the important issues planned in the project. Thanks to fruitful discussions and workshop sessions, in which everyone performed assigned tasks with great dedication, together we brought the project to the next stage.

On the second day of the meeting, we had the opportunity to visit the climate station in Nichelino and participate in the official establishment of the Urban Living Lab in the beautiful palace in Nichelino, a city that is one of the partners of CICADA4CE.

We sincerely thank the organizers for the excellent preparation of the meeting, which gave us the opportunity to exchange experiences, direct further activities and gain an even deeper understanding of what we want to achieve in the project.
