Accessibility Statement

Introduction

The Institute for Ecology of Industrial Areas (IETU) undertakes to ensure the accessibility of IETU website in accordance with the provisions of the Act of April 4, 2019 on digital accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies.

The website is partially compliant with the Act of April 4, 2019 on the digital accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies due to non-compliance or exclusions listed below.

There may be situations where some documents published on the website are not available due to the following facts:

  • they come from different sources
  • they were published on the basis of rules adopted in another institution
  • they were published before the entry into force of the Act on digital accessibility (e.g. films)
  • in the films published after the entry into force of the Act, in which there are no subtitles for the deaf and deaf - subtitles are planned to be placed by the end of June 2023
  • published documents (pdf files) are not available digitally - it is planned to adapt to availability by the end of June 2023

Facilities on IETU website

IETU website has the following facilities for people with disabilities, accessible from the auxiliary menu in the upper right corner of the page:

  • increased contrast (3 options)
  • displaying the page using a grayscale
  • letter enlargement option
  • increasing the line spacing and spaces between letters
  • font display for dyslexics
  • enlarged cursor
  • red frame around the navigation elements
  • text reading option

You can use standard keyboard shortcuts on the website.

Access keys

Apart from the mouse, you can move around the website using a keyboard. The "TAB" key will move the cursor to each navigation option or link on the screen. By pressing "Enter" you will go to the selected link. You can scroll the page by using the "Down" and "Up" arrows.

Links

Links contain an attribute - title and alt that describe the link in more detail. If the text in the link itself precisely describes the target document, the attribute may be omitted.

Adaptation for mobile devices

The website pages can be easily viewed on the screens of mobile devices.

Should any problems with the website accessibility appear, please contact us. The contact unit is IETU Secretariat, . You can also contact us at the phone number: 32 254 60 31 ext. 279. In the same way you can submit requests for disclosure of unavailable information and file complaints about the lack of accessibility.

Everyone has the right to request for providing digital accessibility of the website, mobile application or any of their elements. You can also request information to be made available using alternative means of access, for example by reading a digitally unavailable document, describing the content of the video without audio description, etc.

The request should include:

  • details of the person submitting the request
  • information which website or mobile application the request refers to
  • form of contact

If the requesting person reports the need to receive information by means of an alternative method of access, the most convenient way of presenting this information must be specified.

The public sector body should respond to the request immediately, not later than within 7 days from the date of the request. If it is not possible to meet this deadline, the public sector body shall immediately inform the person submitting the request when it will be possible to execute the request, and this deadline shall not be longer than 2 months from the date of submitting the request.

If providing digital accessibility is not possible, the public sector body may propose an alternative way of getting access to the required information.

If the public sector body refuses to execute the request for providing access or an alternative method of access to the required information, the requesting body may file a complaint regarding the provision of digital accessibility of the website or its element.

After exploring all possibilities, the complaint may also be sent to the Ombudsman.

Accessibility of the entrance to the building and passage through control areas

There is a stair platform for disabled persons or persons with reduced mobility, that allows access to the ground floor at the entrance to the building. The rest of the IETU building is not adapted for disabled people with mobility impairments.

Accessibility of corridors and stairs

The building is not accessible for disabled people, there is no elevator or platform for the

disabled.

There is no access to the rooms situated on floors.

Types of adjustments inside the building

No adjustments.

Parking spaces for disabled people and how to use them

There is one parking space for disabled people next to the building - public space, access to the parking space from the Kossutha Street.

Admission with an assistance dog

Please note that you can enter the building with an assistance dog and a guide dog.

Sign language interpreter

There is no sign language interpreter at IETU, and no online translator service is provided.

Other

There are no Braille markings in the building, no contrast or large print markings for visually-handicapped or partially sighted people. There is no induction loop.
