IETU at POLECO – International Trade Fair Environmental Protection – Innovations for a Sustainable Environment, Poznan, 15-17.10.2024

Some of the main topics, reflecting the current and highly relevant challenges for shaping national waste management, were the deposit system, critical and strategic raw materials, the packaging directive, the low-carbon transition, plastics recycling, as well as issues related to the circular economy. IETU's Re-Plan City LIFE and ReBuilt projects were also presented at the fair.

The exhibition brought together leaders in sustainability, circular economy, municipal management and the latest technological solutions to support environmental protection. In addition to a wide range of exhibitors, visitors had the opportunity to attend a number of conferences on key environmental and resource management challenges and trends.

One such event was the Circular Economy Summit, where participants were able to gain an in-depth understanding of the current challenges in national waste management. The Circular Economy Summit included the conference 'Good waste management practices. Let's talk about ... vol. 3', the programme included sessions on systemic key solutions for GOZ and issues related to circular waste management in the tyre recycling industry. In this context, the Re-Plan City LIFE project, implemented in an international consortium with Polish partners such as the Institute of Ecology of Industrial Areas and the Waste Management and Recycling Cluster - National Key Cluster, was presented. The panel discussions brought together industry experts and representatives of the country's main tyre and plastics recyclers. The aspects of GOZ and the use of recyclates in construction and urban investments are also issues by ReBuilt project implemented at IETU.
