The final meeting of the European project "Integrated Support System for Efficient Water Usage and Resources Management" (ISS-EWATUS) took place on 30 - 31 January 2017 in the Rector’s Office of the University of Silesia in Katowice. The organisers of the event were University of Silesia, Institute for Ecology of Industrial Areas in Katowice and Regional Water Supply and Sanitation Company in Sosnowiec.
During the meeting the following most important project outcomes were presented:
- Decision support system for water management at an urban level enabling identification of leaks and leakage, selection of proper emergency actions, water demand assessments, and water pressure control in an urban water supply system in order to reduce water leakage,
- Simulation programme for flexible water prices - identification of relationships between consumption and the price of water,
- Mobile decision support system for households (application and installation of the required equipment) reporting real-time water consumption for all members of the household,
- watersocial.org portal for water stakeholders involved in the implementation of conscious and cost-effective water use, in which elements of gamification were applied.
The ISS-EWATUS project has been implemented since 2014 and coordinated by the Institute of Informatics at the University of Silesia.
Partners in the project consortium were scientific, R&D and business units from Poland, Great Britain, Spain, Greece and the Netherlands.
