CICADA4CE Project Meeting in Dubnica nad Váhom

On 26–27 March 2026, the meeting of the CICADA4CE project partners took place in Dubnica nad Váhom, with the participation of representatives of IETU as the Project Leader.

The first day began with an official welcome by the Mayor of Dubnica nad Váhom, followed by a brief introduction by the Project Coordinator, Anna Starzewska-Sikorska (IETU). This was followed by discussions on the progress of individual project activities, including the preparation of Action Plans and Pilot Actions (investments) implemented in five cities: Dubnica, Břeclav, Kranj, Nichelino, and Sosnowiec. The cities also presented how residents are engaged in activities carried out within the established Urban Living Labs (ULLs).

Further sessions focused on the development of the project handbook, the project platform, and the creation of a network of cities. In addition to productive discussions, a workshop session was organized, actively involving all partners in developing materials for summarizing progress, drawing conclusions, and proposing good practices.

At the same time, a session of the CICADA4CE school network took place, initiating valuable cooperation and exchange of experiences among teachers from three partner countries: the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Poland. Further activities are planned, including the involvement of schools from Slovenia.

On the second day, a Steering Committee meeting was held, details of the investment in Dubnica were presented, and participants then took part in a study visit to the Slovak Elementary School Centrum 1, where a climate change resilient multifunctional smart community park implemented as part of the project was showcased.

The meeting in Dubnica nad Váhom marked an important step in the implementation of the CICADA4CE project, enabling an assessment of current progress and fostering the exchange of experiences among all partners.
