Conference Future Challenge of Land Management

Save the date!

The LUMAT project team is pleased to announce that the INTERREG Central LUMAT project will hold the international conference on “Future Challenges of Comprehensive Land Management” in Brdo pri Kranju, Slovenia on the 25th September 2018.

The one day conference will focus on the role of integrated spatial and regional planning and the importance of urban regeneration for the prevention of urban sprawl and reduction of land take. To achieve by 2050 land take targets established in the Roadmap to a Resource Efficient Europe, planning solutions must include compensation measures and environmental management tools already introduced in various European regions. Good practices and solutions will be presented by LUMAT partners and invited speakers.

You are kindly invited to join us. Please book the date in your calendar.

Both the draft programme and registration will be made available in the beginning of July.

The conference is organized by the project LUMAT  and the Ministry of the Environment and Spatial planning of the Republic of Slovenia

Milestone: By 2020, EU policies take into account their direct and indirect impact on land use in the EU and globally, and the rate of land take is on track with an aim to achieve no net land take by 2050; soil erosion is reduced and the soil organic matter increased, with remedial work on contaminated sites well underway.
