We would like to thank all participants for taking part in the Workshop. In particular, we would like to thank the distinguished speakers for their interesting presentations, which contributed to a substantive and important discussion summarising the workshop. It was important not only for the participants of the meeting, but also for the entire tyre recycling sector and associated stakeholders.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Director Bogna Gwoździńska and the employees of Drogopol sp. z o.o. for professionally organising an extremely interesting and educational field session at the bituminous mass production plant in Piekary Śląskie.

RE-PLAN CITY LIFE Platform

As we announced during the workshops, the RE-PLAN CITY LIFE has created an online platform whose mission is to promote knowledge about the use of recycled materials from tyre processing (RTM’s).

The platform is a newly created tool. Ultimately, it will contain a database of knowledge and good practices, information about available technologies, completed investments, etc. (the latter are displayed on an interactive map, making it easy to get a quick overview of such works, if someone has shared them).

The platform is designed to work both ways: practitioners and industry experts will be able to feed it with content, and those interested in the topic will be able to learn interesting things. The topic is extremely relevant as there is a widespread problem with an excess of used tyres, which are a valuable secondary raw material containing high-quality materials and available at our fingertips.

By registering (in the ‘Community’ tab), users can take full advantage of the platform, post their own content, information about their products and services (in the ‘Marketplace’ tab), and contact industry experts. Various interesting items can be found and published in the ‘News’ tab, and the ‘Networking’ tab contains information about conferences and other events, among other things. Everything can be viewed at the address below.

We encourage you to familiarise yourself with the website and create a user profile: https://replancity.eu/

We have prepared a summary of the Workshop for you:

  • In the ‘News’ tab, you can currently find a note about the workshop that took place in Katowice on 1st October 2025, along with a more detailed report on the study visit to Piekary Śląskie (Polish and English versions, .pdf) - https://replancity.eu/news/42
  • The ‘Networking > Events’ tab contains the report and summary of workshop, presentations and discussion part - https://replancity.eu/networking/events/32

At the platform is also available a short survey designed to identify the expectations and areas of interest of individuals and institutions interested in the use of RTMs. We kindly ask you to complete the survey. Your feedback is very important and will help shape not only the web portal, but also the entire tyre recycling market in Europe:

RE-PLAN CITY LIFE project aims to increase awareness on the use of Recycled Tyre Materials (RTMs), promote environmentally friendly behaviors in urban communities, stimulate the adoption of Circular Economy best practices, and create further opportunities of cooperation and implementation through new projects. The meeting will aim to analyse and discuss which actions and initiatives should be adopted in order to stimulate a wider use of rubberised asphalt.

The event was oranized by the RE-PLAN CITY LIFE project, that has received funding from the European Union’s LIFE programme under LIFE20 GIE FR 282 and is co-financed by National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, Poland
