About the Institute

The Institute for Ecology of Industrial Areas (IETU) is a research institute acting under the Minister of Climate and Environment. The research and services offered by IETU focus on environmental challenges posed by industrialised and urbanised areas in the context of circular economy, resource efficiency, adaptation to climate change and mitigation of its effects.

With its expert knowledge and experience IETU supports local and state administration, as well as business entities. Offering a wide range of research and consulting services, we provide our customers with high quality products based on our expertise and 50 years’ experience. At the same time, IETU researchers and experts continue to develop new knowledge, methods and tools for faster and more accurate diagnosing the condition

of the environment and forecasting environmental quality changes, taking into account their impact on other components of the ecosystem and human health. The state-of-the-art and the effectiveness of IETU’s R&D activity are based on stimulation of innovations and fostering their application, as well as on dissemination of research results and their use in environmental management and commercial technologies.
